Oh my oh my what a happy day!

Who here has seen that Disney cartoon, "Mickey and the Bean Stock?" If you have then you'll understand my title...though I guess its understandable enough even if you haven't seen it.

I'm in one of those moods where I'm soaking up and enjoying everything around me. It all started when I walked onto my campus this morning and noticed hundreds of little sparkling windwheels stuck into the huge lawns in front of the Oviatt Library. They looked so pretty with the wind making the wheels spin. The sight made me think of summer for some reason, and I noticed that the gentle warmth of the sun really was kissing my skin as I walked. I ENJOYED that feeling and continued gazing at the beautiful sight. It made me realize that I usually assume that I have to WAIT to enjoy spring and summer...wait until spring break to enjoy spring...and wait until summer break to enjoy summer. I dislike the confines of school and the ever-pressing work load so much that I assume it has to invade every area of life. But why? I decided I was going to enjoy the warmth and sights of spring starting from the beginning. Every time I walk outside I can't help but hear the happy birds and enjoy the blue skies...although each time I go outside today the sun has become a little more annoyingly hot...oh well...its still real pleasant in the shade.

I walked down a grassy hill on campus today on which so many people have walked that there is now a dirt path. As I walked down the path, the dirt was hard and made a cool crunchy sound under my feet. It instantly made me crave a good horseback ride and nice carefree hike in Sequoia. And then when the hill leveled out I was back onto grass and thought of running on sun-warmed, slightly dewy, clover-laiden grass in BARE feet...it has to be bare feet. Doesn't that sound good? I always thought that I'm the type that loves fall and winter the most, when you can bundle up and get a cup of coffee and sit next to the fire. While I do love that stuff a lot, I find myself craving the carefree warmth of summer much more.

I'm going to where sandals tomorrow. And a skirt.

And even though I'm craving carefree summer, its fun to also enjoy the now, which is school. Two of my friends in my differential equations class make me laugh because as we make our way further and further into the material, we keep finding more and more complicated processes that we have to memorize, but thankfully these processes come with super cool names, like "Wronskian" and "annihilator." These two guys are always talking about how "Wronskians are so cool. They solve everything. Any problem you come across in life, just plug it into a Wronskian and it will all make sense." If you know what a wronskian is, you know that doesn't make any sense, but it makes me laugh to hear them talk that way. One guy said that if he ever discovers anything in economics (his major), then he's gonna call it a "Wronskian annihilator." And they act cynically enthusiastic about everything in class. (Something tells me "cynically" wasn't the word to use there, but I'll use it anyway.:) When my teacher says, "Now lets make solving this differential equation an initial value problem," (translation: "Lets make this horrible complicated problem a little more annoyingly complicated"), they say "YES!"

Alright, gotta go back to studying.

P.S. I still really really REALLY want to do part II of my Resolved description...the difficult part is finding the time to do it.

You know, so many people are using nouns as verbs these days -- like "We want you to PARTNER with us in this missions project" or, "How do you plan to PARENT your children?" or, "Let's go to the conference in order to NETWORK with other vendors." So, I am trying to make sense of a sentence in your entry in which you spelled "wear" "w-h-e-r-e", by making "tomorrow" a verb, and it is making me laugh because it makes me want to ask "Where, exactly DO sandals do their TOMORROWing???? Will you take me with you when you go there?"
