After a delightful breakfast of homemade omelettes and toast with the Tylers, Brent and I set out last Saturday to Bed Bath&Beyond and Target with the goal of completing the task of registering for the things we want and need. We started with Bed Bath&Beyond. It surprised us how much time and energy registering took. Halfway through the first store I was tempted to give up...not because they didn't have the things we wanted or needed or anything, it was just that thinking so hard about the things we would need, what type of things we would need, what color of things we would want, the pattern of things we would want, etc., all of that was exhausting! Brent encouraged me to push through the tiredness, and we left Bed Bath&Beyond confidant that we had done our best with that store and ready for more food. By that time it was almost four o'clock, so before moving on to Target we stopped at Claim Jumper for a refresher. It didn't take long to realize that we were both getting or were already slap-happy. Things were making us laugh and giggle that shouldn't have made us laugh and giggle. It was fun.:)
BTW, has anyone ever tried Claim Jumper's soft pretzel with nacho cheese sauce? OH, so good.
On our way to Target we made a stop at David's Bridal to pick up the bridesmaid dresses that were declared to me "available for pick up." Seeing them in person made me so super excited...made everything feel that much more real (haha, as if registering for the things Brent and I will one day share didn't make things feel real!).
Target was a lot easier than Bed Bath&Beyond, partly because the scanner thingie simply works way better at Target and partly because by the time we made it over there we were so tired that we didn't put much thinking into the things we scanned. We just pointed and shot. I came away very thrilled about the dishes, glasses and especially serving dishes and untensils we found, oh, and the frames too.
We spent Sunday resting from registering and everything else, but on Monday we got together and fixed our registries up online, deleting the things we got doubles of, finding items we liked even better than the ones we had originally chosen, adding things we had forgotten, and things like that. We ended up wondering why in the world we didn't just start online in the first place...it was SOOOOO much easier. We found the most adorable place mats and a table runner online, I think they would look so cute on the little white wood table Brent's parents are generously giving us!
Ever since then we've been updating it every once in a while, adding new things and such...I don't think the updating is going to come to a halt before the wedding. :)

I know, I know, it was SO hard! It reminded me of pulling an all nighter for finals. I felt that tired. But for a fun reason. It was weird.
llllllll, an all nighter before finals. That's EXACTLY what it felt like!! :)
hahahaha. ooh, you'll keep updating your registry even after you get your gifts (especially because 3-4 weeks after your wedding, both target and blood bath & beyond will give you 10% of anything on your registry -- but can you make it 3-4 weeks after your wedding to finish buying stuff)
i remember the scanner gun at BB&B not working well either!! Matt and I had so much trouble with it!
that's hilarious... eric did not accompany me on my registering outings. i went with my roommates once and with my mom another time. how did that work??
...but when we went to Santa Barbara for our first anniversary, on the way back, we stopped at Babies'R'Us and started our baby registry. Now THAT was fun! :)
ha! I felt the same way! I had heard about how much girls LOVE registering, and I just felt overwhelmed until I was done. Then once I got married and I knew what I wanted more, I wanted to go back and do it all over again. HA!. I'm so glad you're done, and that you had fun in the end :) :) I checked out your registry and I love your placemats and tablerunner at target. they look like you :)
